A video tutorial about how to create a Carter part using CATIA V5 Part Design module. A little bit complicated part to design, but if you have experience in CAD designing will be easy to create. If will find how to read an 2D Drawing to translate in to a 3D using CATIA Part Design module.
A simple tutorial about how to close a surface create in Generative Shape Design (GSD) or Part Design using CATIA V5. It is important to close the entire surfaces created before using Join or something else. It exist many ways to do that, but in the below video you will see one of them. Read more
A video tutorial about how to create a simple surface in Generative Shape Design in CATIA V5. You will find how to use most used commands in GSD (generative shape design), Extrude and Split. Read more
The No. 8 of CATIA V5 video tutorial series comes with a simple support with 4 fixation on the bottom and a rotation fixation on the top.
To design this part in CATIA I used Sketch, Pad, Hole, Mirror and Rectangular Pattern. If you want to learn how to create this part, watch the below video.
If you have another idea to create this part or questions please leave a comment.
Capture screenshots in CATIA V5 is very easy to be done. The how-to process takes only few seconds and the results is very good if you know to use the settings of Image Capture.
The command is called Capture and it’s available on Tools -> Image. The command has many options, I will present only a part of them, the most used. Read more
My new video tutorial present a simple part, where we can learn a how to use CATIA V5 Part Design module to create a spherical surface using Shaft command.
The Rectangular Pattern it’s also a great feature in CATIA, because you can create fast and easy identical features positioned in other positions with same specification light initial feature. For this drawing I used Rectangular Pattern to create the two Ø12 mm holes. You can use also, Mirror command to create a copy of initial feature, but this command is limited to only one duplicate comparative with Rectangular Pattern. Read more
To make an export to PDF from a CATIA Drawing you just use save procedure as save a drawing. Just go to File -> Save as -> write the File name and on Save as type form, choose the file format for the file, in this case PDF.
The paper size of PDF will be the same as the drawing format used to in CATIA Drawing. If you want to print the PDF in other paper size, you must install a virtual printer that allows you to use Print function (shortcut CTRL + P) in CATIA V5 without any printer attached to the workstation.
The Print function allow you to choose multiple parameters for paper, for example: Position (Portrait, Landscape, or other rotation), Paper Size (A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, etc.), Scale, Print Quality in DPI up to 4000, etc.

When you design a part you must be permanently focused on how will be the part executed, if the machine can execute all operations without complications. Less operations to be executed => save time and money.
I will show you in the below video how to use the Drafting module in CATIA V5 in most important steps. I recommend to read the CATIA V5 help (available when you press F1 key or on toolbar go to Help -> CATIA V5 Help). Read more
